What a weekend!

We had a great trip back to our home state this weekend. Jordan & I went to help my sister move. Jordan had both boys cuddling with her on Saturday...so cute! She is going to be a great big sister!

The weekend was great. Got to love on my niece and nephews and see their temporary home until their house is built.

Sunday we annouced our adoption news to our home church. It was good to see everyone!!!

Alabaster Jar

Tonight during our Communion Service we discussed and reflected on the wedding at Cana. Jesus turned the water into wine...not just any wine the best wine. The water in the jars had been used to wash hands...quite yucky.

During a quiet time of reflection, I tried to find what I was to get out of this scripture...and it came to me. Initially I thought about the yucky water that I feel I am at times (we all do) and that Jesus turns me into the BEST wine. (It is more of a work in progress than a lightening bolt miracle.)

Then to take it a bit further. The six or so years of loss and infertility are much of a blur to us. I see it as a time of yucky water. Loss, infertility, meds, financial strain.... But Jesus is turning that into wine. We have been so blessed in our move here and now we are getting a chance to add to our family. WOW!

I have been feeling so guilty that this has become the happiest I have been in a long time. I am content and filled with pure joy. There are many unhappy people here, grieving a former life...grieving what was. I know this is the best of the best. Life in ministry is hard, busy and stressful at times. This is a time to live in peace and contentment, preparing for what lies ahead.

Tonight one of the ladies said that Jesus turned water into wine for the guests at the wedding while others were outside hungry and thirsty. We should be grateful for the blessings from God.

So, I say thank you to my God for the many blessings he has given me.

Glorious Sunshine

No better way to say that it is a beautiful day!! I guess we are going car shopping this afternoon before Lance has class. The mileage on the Protege is making him nervous and it still has enough value for a decent trade or outright sell. We are in a good place...don't NEED a car right now, so we can be picky and get a good deal. It is a nice day to try to shop around. Rain forecasted from Sat-Tues, so this is as good of a time as any to look.

I have a meeting at work (home health) tomorrow with the woman that oversees all of KY. It is a meeting with all of the PT staff. I am hoping the meeting is good and productive as there are many changes that need to occur.

As for our adoption process...we are awaiting medical forms to be filled out. I am making appts. for physicals. I am working on our profile booklet...not getting it done too fast as I am developing some pics from Christmas and haven't been home long enough this week to get too much accomplished. I will be glad when this semester is over!! Four 1/2 weeks and counting!!

Whew...it has been quite a week!

We have met with Stacie, our adoption worker, twice this week. All she needs is our medical forms and our home study is complete. We have picked a placing agency and our baby will come from Ohio!! Now we need to put together a 24 page picture book (copied 20 times) so the agency can show them to birthparents. Whew!! The agency said the wait is about 6-12 months.

Jordan wanted to look at baby clothes at Wal-Mart last night. 8) I am ready to get closets cleaned out, rearrange my (so a crib will fit) and clean out a few drawers for baby clothes. All in due time!

My prayer is that God will guide us through this process and give our birthmom strength in making this decision. I pray that the process will go smoothly and we will have our baby in our arms. I am reminded that this will happen in God's perfect time.

Making Sushi

We learned how to make sushi tonight at Dish Mix. Yes...that is my 11 year old rolling sushi...and she ate almost her whole roll! It was so much fun!

Spousal ministries bought a few sushi mats to have enough for the evening and gave one to each of the "little" girls. Jordan can't wait to make sushi for her friends! TOO FUNNY!!

Ahh...Saturday

I really like weekends! It is a cool, cloudy day and we are home. I made some Amish Friendship Bread this morning, Lance is doing some cleaning up outside & Jordan is out playing with Abbey. It is a great day! Relaxing...get the rest of my notes done...Lifetime movie on the TV. Ahhh....

It finally feels like I am getting a "Spring Break". I am feeling well enough to enjoy the day. Actually, I feel fine...full of energy!! I finally slept a full night last night and woke to very little discomfort this morning. It is going to feel good to get all of my notes caught up!!

Lance is cleaning out under the deck to hopefully ward off those pesky black widow spiders. We have a breeding ground for them out there: old bags of mulch, siding, bricks. He is hoping to take away their home and make them want to leave. Then, this summer he is going to spray like crazy! We've only seen them in the back. I want to start landscaping and weeding in the front, but will do so with a watchful eye!!

Jordan is excited because all of the kids in the neighborhood were gone this week and are coming home one by one. Her friend, Abbey, returned last night. They are out playing now...sharing stories about their new "Webkinz". I am apparently making them hotdogs for lunch so they can eat together. :)

It is going to be a good day!

Each day is better...

Moving better today. I had hoped to be back to 100% by now, but Lance is giving me the "I told you so" attitude. Each day is better, but not my ole self yet. I am getting impatient and want to be recovered so life can return to normal. Good thing is I am almost caught up with paperwork. I should be able to finish my EI paperwork tomorrow. YIPPEE! Today I got our taxes ready to be mailed. I've been waiting to get closer to 4/15 to send in a payment as I don't like the government to have my money too soon. :)

Next on the agenda for our family is the visit from our social worker on Tuesday! We are way excited! I dreamt I was feeding our baby girl a bottle last night...she had dark hair...it was a great feeling!

Recovery

The procedure yesterday well, despite the fact we alomost backed out at the last minute. They didn't have a lazer available to take care of the endometriosis. Lance didn't want them to find endo and close me up and have to go back in. The doc said she didn't need the lazer and would cauterize any endo she saw.

SO...procedure went on as planned and I am resting at home. My little "nurse" Jordan is taking good care of me while Lance sees my home health patients today. The biggest relief is I have had almost no nausea! Praise God! They put a patch behind my ear to help and I have anti-nausea meds here at home (which I haven't had to take since last night).

We have such a neat "family" here in seminary. Two of our friends have supplied us with meals...thanks Stephanie and Amberly!!! Yummy!
