It's Summertime!!

Well...not officially according to the calendar, but both of my students have finished school for the year. Ask Jordan and she'll tell you, "I'm on Summer Vacation" and she's so proud to be done 2 weeks before the public school. We kicked off the season with a Memorial Day Camping trip. The Lopes' joined us for part of the weekend. We had a lot of fun! The campground was nice, the weather was perfect--aside from a few raindrops and the time away was great!!!

3 down...1 to go

Lance just finished his third year here in seminary...one to go! The time has flown by so fast. It's hard to believe that this time next year we will have an appointment and will be preparing to move from this beautiful state. Jordan doesn't want to even think about it. She'll miss her friends! I am half excited at the prospect of the next phase of our journey, but I'll be sad to see this phase come to an end. God has really blessed us here...in more ways than I can count!!

I am so proud of Lance for the hard work he puts into school and for how well he has balanced school, work and home life. :)

Jordan's latest pottery

Jordan's art class is awesome!! She finished this bowl today through a process called raku. I don't understand it completely, but I'm sure you can "google" it to find out more. It involved mulch, a reduction of some sort, boiling it at 600 degrees and then firing in the kiln. All I know is I really like the finished product...so cool!! AND...she gave it to me for Mother's Day--inscribed on back and everything. I could get used to this art class!!

One step closer...

Okay. We've bought our plane tickets for Brazil for July!! WOW! Tonight after going to two different places, we finally got our pictures for our visas. We needed another official birth certificate for Jordan and need to get an address from Paulo and we'll be ready to send off for our visas.

We'll be in Brazil for 12 days!! Our mission will be to help with "July for Jesus" though Lance & I can't decide in what capacity we are going to work. There are so many choices: carpentry, medical, make-overs, VBS, kitchen duty... It's exciting! Mostly, we can't wait to see this beautiful country we've been hearing so much about!
