Nesting?

Or am I just a neat freak? I spent the biggest part of yesterday cleaning...major cleaning. Two hours of this were spent in Jordan's room and the loft. We found "stuff" that has been missing for months. Jordan actually does own more than one pair of socks!! :)

The house looks great...the social worker comes in a week...am I nesting? It could take a year to get a baby...how long does this nesting stuff last? :)

Talked to our social worker!!!

Her name is Stacie and I really like her so far! Stacie will come to our home on April 8th for our first meeting, our second meeting will be on the 10th and then....I guess we get our profile together to give to birth moms!!! 8) Woo Hoo!!!

Getting Closer

Our background checks from MO and IL came yesterday. I called the CBIS for First Steps to get a verification of employment and are still waiting on the same from Lifeline. All we need yet is our reference letters and we are ready to talk to the social worker!!! Once we got going on the paperwork, it fell into place quite easily!!

I am getting anxious to meet this baby that God is creating for us...somewhere!!

Just an update...

I haven't blogged in awhile. We've been very busy this
semester and I can't seem to keep up.

Lance & I were fortunate to attend the couples' retreat at a local hotel. It was wonderful!! After an evening of dancing and time with friends, we enjoyed a soak in the hot tub while snow fell outside. We reconnected with each other and our friends. It was a great time!!

I spent today finishing some tax stuff and filling out more forms for adoption. We are very close to having everything together!! It is very exciting!! I may be able to schedule an appt. with our social worker by the end of the week and then she will schedule 2 weeks ahead. That means we can be talking to her by the middle of April!!!

We had a fun day shopping for an Easter outfit for Jordan yesterday. We always have so much fun running about. She is so funny and has become a blast to shop with! She is getting into the clothes stage and likes to try on different things. Her taste of clothes is definately different than mine. 8)

Two more months left in this semester! YIPPEE!!!

The BIG packet...

We received the "big packet" today for our adoption. This is the many forms we will fill out to be able to adopt. I'm sending the background check information in today as it can take the longest. The rest won't take long...just busy work. Jordan was so excited when she got the mail and there was an envelope from the agency!! (Me too) 8)

So much for the sunshine. Yesterday was beautiful...sunny and warm. Today...rain. We are beginning to think that Jason is right in that it rains here 3-4 days a week!! So, we turned lemons into lemonade. Jordan and I made cornflake cookies (blue with pink sprinkles). A fun activity on a rainy day. Now she is cleaning her room...thank goodness!

Back to filling out forms!!!!

And so it begins....

We are mailing our primary adoption application and fee today! This is very exciting and we are very pleased with the agency we have chosen. This is the first agency that has made us feel like we have rights as adoptive parents. So many agencies give rights to the birth family and make us feel like we are simply "the people with the checkbook". I am happy we have found this agency and can't wait to meet our social worker!

By the way...the sun is shining today!! Ahhh....
