We've had an eventful first week here in Florida. We needed to find a washer and after several tries with used washers settled for one on sale at a local store. We decided to keep our eyes out for a different fridge as we wanted one w/ a water filter built in. (The water here does not taste the best.) We found a good deal on Craigslist and after shuffling around the other 2 fridges, we found out that the one we bought didn't fit in the kitchen. UGH!! Had to take it back out. SO...we had to sell 2 fridges and were still looking for one w/ water in the door. Again, found a scratch/dent at the local store....and they deliver!!
That takes us to Friday. After all of the chaos with appliances and the rain we've had all week, Jordan decided we should go to the beach. It was such a pretty sunny day and she was just anxious to get to the beach. Lance had to work, so it was just the 2 of us. Well...let's just say, riptides are no fun!! We were on our newly bought boogy board and got caught in a riptide. Two surfers came to our rescue until the lifeguard was able to rescue us and bring us back to shore. Too much excitement for one day!! Apparently, the hurricane and the new pier have affected the currents here and they've had a lot of trouble.
I think when we go back to the beach today, we'll stay close to shore and very far from that pier!! A good lesson learned in how to get out of a riptide. A thankful heart that God protected us and kept us safe!!!
