David
Some people have a way of working their way into your heart in a short time. We've known David & his family for 2 1/2 years and they will forever be a special part of our lives. David fought cancer for about 18 years w/ his most recent relapse this past summer. He bravely went through 3 chemo treatments and six weeks of radiation. On January 6, 2013 David received the ultimate healing...in heaven. After fighting the cancer, he was taken from this earth by a massive stroke. DeDe says his passing was peaceful & without pain.
Please pray for DeDe, their children & grandchildren as they grieve the loss of a great man.

Sophomore Year
We are not even 2 months into Sophomore year and it's been a busy one! Jordan is 1/2 time in public school, 1/2 time home schooled this year. She is enjoying the mixture and likes doing Biology experiments in the public school. The band is in full force--Friday night games, Saturday competitions and practice in between. The show this year is "Summer of Love 1967" and they are dressed as hippies. It is really cute!!
Jordan decided to go to the Homecoming Dance this year---WITH FRIENDS. :) She turned into a young lady right before my eyes!! Homecoming, however, was a bust. She texted us to pick her up early--BORED. Hee hee! Apparently, there was not a lot to do to hold the interest of those that attended. She says she won't go again. Lance is okay with that. In his words, "it saves us some money for the next 2 years". Oh brother!

Jacob
One of the hardest parts of my job as a Pediatric PT is losing the little ones I've grown to love. Jacob went to be with Jesus this morning at the young age of 4 1/2 years old. He was a very special little guy and has left an imprint in my heart. Please pray for his mom, dad, brother, sister and his entire extended family as they grieve the loss of this precious boy!

Weathering the storm...
When we moved to Florida, we knew this day would come. We are preparing for our first hurricane: Isaac. Looks like it's going to be a category 2 right now. The exact position for landfall and the exact strength is not officially confirmed, but right now it is heading in our direction.
As we await this storm, we are celebrating the start of our family. Our 18th anniversary is on Monday, the 27th. It's kind of funny that we will be spending A LOT of time together as a family as we hunker down in our house waiting for the storm to go through.
So, as we have weathered "storms" of life in 18 years of marriage, we wait to weather a real storm and pray that God watches over us and keeps us safe!

Prayers Needed
This is a picture of DeDe and David. Dear friends of ours here in Florida. He has been diagnosed w/ throat cancer for the 3rd time and is having surgery this week. Those are his adorable grandchildren w/ them in the photo.
Please pray for this family and for David. This is a risky surgery complicated by his previous surgeries, chemo and cancer.
His story in our local paper:

BTW: We had a very successful fundraiser for the family yesterday. God is so good!
Thanks for the prayers!

Brasil, 2012
Bom Dia (good morning) from Jandaia Do Sul, Brasil. I keep saying over and over that I can't believe we are here again. I feel so blessed to have made this trip a 2nd time. Our first day involved mostly planning and worship to anoint our team for the week. It's been great seeing old friends and meeting many new ones. The weather is warmer than Mafra was 3 years ago. Still gets rather chilly at night, but much better!! I'm signed up to work VBS again and can't wait to meet the children in this city!!

Brasil
God has blessed us with another trip to Brasil for July for Jesus. We leave in about 2 1/2 hours for an amazing mission trip! This time, 8 of us from our church are going and joining 2 from a church in Missouri (the church where Lance's brother is the pastor).
I am excited to be able to share the culture of this neat country with others! I pray that God touches our team in ways we never imagined! I pray that we have good health, safety & protection. I pray that our families are safe while we are away.
Pics to come from south of the equator!!
